As a child, growing up on a small farm in Ohio, Delilah found drawing to be her favorite pastime. Balancing her love of art and animals resulted in sitting in the field many a day as a teenager drawing her horse and the wildflowers in the field. She was trained and educated as an Art Teacher with an Associates degree from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, B.A. from Xavier University, Cincinnati. Oh., and selected Studio art for her major in her M.A. from Morehead University, Morehead, KY with a focus on painting. Delilah has taught Art K-12 in the public school, plus taught four years as a adjunct professor at Campbellsville University. Creating art has provided many relaxing hours. She has been a participant in art gallery exhibits, has won awards in art competitions and has done her own personal shows at both Campbellsville and Morehead University.
What began as a hobby resulted in the sales of over 500 paintings and 17 wall murals. Delilah was chosen to create a cancellation postal stamp for the Augusta Regatta in 1996. Her artwork has been purchased to hang in doctor offices, restaurants, schools, churches, businesses and homes. Delilah’s paintings can be found in Alaska, California, Florida and various places in between. Some of the paintings she created reflect areas of the country she has visited and terrain studied there. Below is a comment about her work:
“Nothing amazes me more than the beauty of God’s creations from the colors in the sunset, the gleam on the surface of the ocean’s tide, the rich greens of a Spring pasture to the majestic mountains of Alaska. God didn’t have to make our world so beautiful but I am so thankful that He did! I want to capture this wonder on canvas and freeze a moment in time to remind me of His glory!”
